We had my parents down for the week/weekend since my dad was on spring break and so were we. They came down on Wednesday night and we got to hang out for a few days.
I had some projects for dad so he hung a big picture frame, put up a rack in our pantry and helped hang our video monitor for Andrew's room. Maybe one day he will actually sleep in his own room. :)
We spent about 4 hours at the outlet mall on Friday. We didn't really buy alot but we did a ton of walking. We also went to Lowe's for flowers, mulch, plants, tools, fertilizer, and ant poison. We had some major yard work to get done!
So this morning my parents were a ton of help and we got all of our yardwork done. We planted flowers in the bed by the house, flowers by the trees, mulched everything, dad fertilized the grass...it was a busy morning. Luckily Andrew took a 3 hour nap so we were able to get everything done while he was in the house. With his snottiness, I haven't been wanting him to be outside and we spent so much time outside at the outlets on Friday - he really needed to stay inside today.
We got all of that done and our yard looks fantastic! It was a great weekend and we thank our parents profusely for all their help. We had such a fun week/weekend with them and we are always sad when our parents have to leave. We'll be heading to Waxahachie in a couple of weeks, though, so we will see them soon.

Visit from Great-Grandparents

We have been down for the count the past week and a half. Andrew had his first sick doctor's appointment on March 5th. He was running a fever and had a nasty cough/snotty nose. He had a cold. We were supposed to have family pictures that day but we canceled. Brian and I stayed home with Andrew on Monday and then I stayed with him on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon, I started feeling crummy. Turns out, my allergies started acting up. Andrew went back to daycare on Wednesday and I worked half a day but went home at noon to rest. I felt like poop. Well, then, Brian got the cold that Andrew had. So he stayed home on Thursday. We were a miserable little family. Although Andrew was back at daycare, he was still having trouble sleeping because of all the snot and drainage. Anyway, we are on the mend. Andrew is still snotty, I'm still coughy (I know, not a word) and Brian is still wheezy (he has asthma, which makes everything worse). But we are on the mend. :)

We spent this last weekend just being lazy. It was rainy on Saturday so we hung out and watched movies. Then Sunday, we just got out and went to Sam's. It turned out to be a beautiful day so I got out and walked with Andrew in the stroller. Hopefully that will become a daily thing. He loves the stroller.

All of that to say, I haven't posted this until now because of all the sickness. The first weekend in March, my grandparents came down to visit with my aunt and uncle. It was the first time they got to meet Andrew.
 Andrew and Papa
All the great-grandkids that were there.
 Smiles from Gigi and Taren.
Gigi likes to pet baby Andrew. :) too cute!
It is something special to see your grandparents get to hold your child. I only get to experience that with one set of grandparents but I know that Grandma and Pepaw would be just as in love if they were still here.
Andrew got lots of love pats and we are already looking forward to seeing them again. Hopefully we can plan a trip in the fall sometime.
We hung out after they left. Here is Mr. Smiley before he got that cold!
My parents are coming in tomorrow and we are excited to have them. We have a few things planned but mostly Brian and I are looking forward to having someone to watch Andrew so we can catch up on a little sleep. :)

Hachie Weekend

We had a visit to Hachie last weekend. One of these days we will go there and just relax :) Right now, when we go, we have to show off Andrew - which is okay too!
We got to see the Bradys on Saturday night.
He looks so tiny with Pat.
And with Twiggs, of course. This wasn't the best picture that I got of them but I thought it was funny!
I really sucked at picture taking last weekend. I went with the best intentions of getting outside to get some good pictures. It just didn't happen. Drebs loves being outside so I will eventually get out and learn how to use my camera in the sunlight.

When we got home on Sunday, I went to the grocery store. While I was gone, Brian got a ton of cute pictures of DrewB in the jumperoo. He loves that thing and gave Brian some great smiles.

I love that he goes from this really great smile...
 To a wide open laugh!
He is getting such a little personality. He is starting to laugh and like I said, loves his jumper. His feet don't touch the ground yet so we put a pillow underneath and he can bounce on it and move the seat around. He is learning to play with all the toys on it. We have a little toy with a mirror on it and tonight we sat and played with it. He laughed at himself in the mirror. He is just learning new stuff everyday and I love watching him figure things out. :)

He fell asleep in my lap tonight. I could have sat there all night with him. Love when he does that. He got sweaty, though, and I had to put him down. He is very hot natured like his momma!

Our Weekend

We had a great relaxing weekend. As much as we love having company on the weekend, we equally love having weekends with absolutely no plans.

Friday, it was rainy all day and it continued to rain pretty hard and steady throughout the night. So Saturday morning was dark and rainy. Andrew peed through a diaper in the middle of the night so he slept in bed with us. Then he peed through another one in our bed. Therefore, we were all up at 6 am and I was doing laundry. :) I commented to a friend on facebook that Andrew makes being up at 6am on a Saturday just fine and dandy.

While we were up early, we just stayed in our pajamas and hung out at the house. Brian fixed breakfast. We did finally get dressed and run to Target and Walgreens. I had some little baby things I wanted to pick up at Target and a prescription and pictures at Walgreens. I'm trying to stay on the ball about framing Andrew's pictures.

Today, we got up around 7am and I hit the grocery store. I've found that early morning on a Sunday is the best time to shop. I am usually in and out in about 30 minutes. We ate some breakfast and got around to head out to some Bobcat Softball. It was so cold and windy out that we only stayed for a few innings. I will be glad when it's a little warmer because we like to watch some softball.

After that, we hit up a couple of the outlet stores that had some sales going. We didn't find much but I did buy a dress from Jones NY for $15! It is just a simple black dress but it's cute and was a great price! We stopped by Sam's for some formula and meats, had some pizza and then headed home.

Drebs had a lengthy nap once we got home (he's napping in his crib now) and I watched 'The Help'. We had rented it from Redbox. It wasn't nearly as good as the book but still a pretty good movie.

So, it was a relaxing yet productive weekend.Of course, we just enjoyed spending time with Andrew since we don't do much but sleep during the week. Only snapped one picture of my pumpkin today. He was sportin his new jeans and a cute onesie that my aunt made him.

Wicked

Last weekend, Brian's parents came down for a three day weekend. They kept Andrew on Friday and then Saturday Brian and I went to see Wicked.
It was such a great play. Our seats were okay but I would have like to have been in the middle more. I had gotten the tickets for Brian at Christmas and he really enjoyed it. We will definitely have to go to more things at Bass Concert Hall. It was a pretty neat place.
We didn't do much beside the play. Brian's parents enjoyed their baby time. :) But who wouldn't enjoy that cute little face?!
