18 months old!

Drewbs turned 18 months old on Friday and we couldn't be having more fun with him!

Some things he is up to lately:
He can say 'hi' & 'bye' and waves.
He now calls me and Brian 'momma' and 'dadda'
He takes one 2 hour nap in the afternoon
He's in the monkey room at daycare (and we are still loving it!)
He says 'nigh nigh' when it's time for bed and knows to give us kisses
We found out today that if we start counting with 1, he will say 'two...'
He loves the kiddie pool in our neighborhood...we will spend many days there this summer
He is so into mimicking anything we say, do or sounds that are made
He mimicks Brian in the morning when he puts gel in his hair; he liks to tell the dogs 'no no no'
He loves to take pics with my phone because he can see himself in the phone...such a ham.

He is absolutely so much fun! Brian and I both can't wait until the end of the day to pick him up and see him :)

He has got such a big personality and reallu is very smart. I don't want to rush time any faster than it is already going but it will be fun when he starts talking...I think he will have many things to tell us all.

This sweet boy was baptized too last week and I thank God for every day that we have with him. He is such a blessing to us!

Andrew's Baptism

We had Andrew baptized last weekend, on Mother's Day. Brian and I also joined the church. It was such a great weekend. We had been talking about joining the church lately and I knew I wanted Andrew baptized at some point. A few weeks ago, we got an email from our Pastor that she had gotten a new assignment at a different church.
 (Group picture after church)

We were so bummed about the new assignment. As much as I am used to that growing up in the Methodist church, I have never liked it. We started attending this church last October and have just truly enjoyed it.

(Pastor Barbara & Andrew)

We love having a female pastor and she just provides really great messages every Sunday. We are going to miss her so much but when we got that email, I knew we wanted to join and have Andrew baptized before she left.

(Oh, this crazy boy thought he would just take care of this baptizing thing himself - it was hilarious!)

So anyway, we picked Mother's Day to do all of this and both of our parents were able to be there. It was such a special, special day.

(Love our little family)

It was really a great weekend. We had beautiful weather and just were able to hang out and relax all weekend.

(great pic with all the grandparents)

We are so blessed to be a part of this church and I hope we can get more involved. I am excited for Andrew to have a church to grow up in just like I did. The people at Eylau UMC still hold such a special place with me.

Spring Break Part Two

Brian's parents came down on Thursday afternoon for the rest of the week. We loved having them down also! Andrew love, love, loves to play outside (which I am thankful for) and would stay out all day if we let him.

Brian's parents bought Drewbs this little truck. Once we got it put together, he wouldn't stay out of it! He still loves it. It stays in the garage and when we get out of the car everyday, he goes straight to the "tuck".

It has a handle so an adult can push for the little kids and eventually, when his legs get long enough, Andrew will be able to push with his legs on the bottom.

I think this was one day when we were out working in the garage - little helper chewing on the paint brush :/

I can't remember which day this was, but we were playing out in the back yard. Brian started watering the yard with one of our sprinklers. This was Andrew's first time in the sprinklers - he thought it was so neat to try to grab it and then run out from the water squealing.

(These pictures are out of order but here's another of our little explorer - he is everywhere, all the time)

Sprinkler fun. He got just drenched but, as he has quickly taught me, it just didn't matter because he was having such a blast!

Here he is trying to grab the water. :)

We will definitely have to bring out the sprinkler more this summer - in between visits to the pool!

Brian's parents left on that Saturday and we had a great visit - mostly just hung out and played outside, which suited everyone just fine. It was a good end to the break. We had a couple of days before my aunt and cousin stopped in to visit on their road trip of college tours. It was great to see them, even if it was only for one night.

I loved having a simple spring break - no travel but we did some fun stuff and got some house stuff done too. I am looking forward to spring break next year now! :)

Spring Break Part One

We had such a great spring break. My previous post had some pictures that I took on my phone but here are a few (actually a ton!) from my big camera.

We started off spring break by hosting our women's tennis team at our house for a fajita dinner. This is such a fantastic group of girls and I was excited to have them come over. Of course, Andrew loved them! He is a such a ham and loves the girls. They played all evening and gave out hugs when everyone was leaving.

My parents came down on Sunday and stayed through Thursday morning. They helped us paint the living room/kitchen/dining/entry and we got that done in one day. After that, we did a few other house projects, including installing Andrew's swing that he got for Christmas.

I had every intention of doing that since Christmas but didn't have a large enough drill-bit. So Pops took care of it.

And as you can tell, he loves it. Brian said the other day, he got in the swing and just watched the trucks behind our house. They are clearing out land behind us for more houses and he loves watching the "tucks". He also likes to sit in the swing and look for birds.

This boy is just too cute!

Then on Wednesday, we loaded up and went down to San Antonio for a visit to the zoo. He really liked some of the animals. Some, he just didn't even care about.

He loved watching the elephants, monkeys and especially the bird exhibit. There was a petting zoo at the end that he also loved. There were goats and pigs - poor things :)

They had these brushes that you could use on the animals. My mom hated this part because one of the goats licked Andrew's hands (I'm sure bc there were graham crackers all over them) but he loved it - so Twiggs sacrificed :)

Sidenote: These overalls are 9 month size and I absolutely adore them. He was only able to wear them like twice because of the weather but I was able to fit him into them one more time. He looks like a little explorer in them. They are now vacuum bagged in his closet :)

Oh, the pigs! There were about 4 of them laying by the exit to the little farm. And all the kids were just all over them, mostly brushing them. Andrew was so excited about them - he petted them, pounded on them and stuck his hands in their mouth. A couple started grunting at him and I had to climb over young children to make sure my young child didn't get eaten by a pig. It was chaotic but he was so funny about them.

Family Pics before we left.

Please notice that he is pulling on my mom's neck. I didn't post the next picture where he was actually pulling on it - it made me laugh pretty hard but my mom would probably kill me. :)

My parents left on Thursday morning and we had such a great time with them. They helped with a ton of stuff and we were able to relax some too. We ate at Chuys on the way home from the zoo (yummy!) and Andrew went without a real nap on zoo day but it was a blast!

Gonna post a part 2 for the second part of the week...

Spring Break From My Phone

These pictures are in no particular order...just the way my phone uploaded them. I have quite a few pictures that need to be loaded from the big camera too. That will be another post, hopefully this week.

We had a jam-packed full week of fun! It was a simple spring break but we had fun just spending it with family and that silly little boy!

He played with bubbles and in the sprinkler with Grandma Solis! He loved the bubbles and the first time playing in the sprinkler (camera pics).

We started the week with my parents coming down. They helped us paint the living room/kitchen/entry way and it looks great! We spent Tuesday working on shelves for the garage until the drill went out. And Wednesday we went to the zoo (and Buc-ee's)!

Thursday, Brian's parents came down and we just relaxed. We went to dinner and Target and played outside quite a bit - which is Andrew's favorite activity. He got a new truck from his grandparents (more camera pics later!) and he loved being pushed in it and pushing it himself.

They left on Saturday so we spent Saturday evening just relaxing and Sunday was just family day. Brian went to the driving range for a bit and Drewbs and I went for a long, hot walk and played outside. His little cheeks were so red when we went inside - hopefully he passes out good tonight.

This was mom's Buc-ee's purchase for Andrew :)

Forget bedtime stories - he likes to watch ipad video of Desi, my sister's dog. He loves that dog!

Crazy monkey!

What a great spring break we had! I'm sad to see it end but back to the routine we go. We are excited for Easter (and my birthday) to roll around so we can see grandparents again.

I'll post again soon with some camera pictures of spring break activities.
